<p>This new type of search results make SEO for Google Local vital for the success of any business that has a local target audience. Testing has show that Google&#8217;s algorithm for local search is significantly different than it&#8217;s <span>algorithm </span>for organic search and PPC.  It is conceptionally the same. That is, Google rewards site&#8217;s algorithmically for having a lot of editorial citations from reputable sources.  The question is what constitutes a quality editorial citation for Google Local?</p>

<p>Walk in their shoes, and understand the dialogue the searcher is having with the web. Most customers are researching or looking for a problem to solve. If you understand what problem they’re trying to solve (keywords and phrases) you can provide them with a very customized solution to it (your landing page, website…and ultimately your product).</li>

The latter is probably not familiar with the neighborhood, schools, parks, etc., while the former is much more likely to be.</li>

<h3>Build landing pages on your site for each conversation type</h3>
<p> 	You’d want the two different potential customers above to go to two different pages within your site, because you want to highlight the different value propositions you’re bringing to the table…to solve their particular problem.</li>
